Olympic Athletes Jamie Sale and David Pelletier receive regular ART Treatments

Jamie Sale and David Pelletier have been on top of the world since their gold medal performance at the Olympics. The World and Olympic Champions in pairs figure skating live and train in Edmonton, Canada where they get regular care from ART provider and chiropractor, Dr. Al Jeffels.

It is easy to imagine the wear and tear on the body from the repeated jumps and spills that they take in their training; not to mention David lifting Jamie's 100 pound frame above his head, twirling around, and then setting her down as neat as a pin.

The force on the landing foot after a jump has been recorded at close to 500 pounds. This force, combined with the swan-like position on landing, puts unique and sometimes extreme stresses on the body. That is why Jamie and David get treated on a weekly basis to help prevent little injuries from becoming worse.

Jamie comments, "I was introduced to Active Release about 3 years ago, and Dave and I swear by it, we don't do anything else practically."

After the Olympics, David was performing a lift on a student and injured the musculature on the left side of his lower spine. He was quite worried because this same injury had taken 11 weeks to heal in 1999 and they had to miss the World Championships and another major competition that year.

This time, he was especially concerned because they had a live nationwide TV special to perform in just over a week.

With ART, David was able to start skating in 3 days, and was completely pain free within the week. Jamie says," With Active Release we haven't been off the ice for more than a few days due to injury, as opposed to weeks or months before we used it."
